Fred Franks is the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and has been part of the organization since 2005. Fred brings both strategic and management experience to FIT where he leads the organization in creating solutions, planning for growth, and investing in leaders.
Fred was named CIO of the Year (for small companies) by NEOSA (GCP Tech) in 2012. In addition, he upped his hipster status by being named to Inside Business’ “Most Powerful Techies” list and was honored as a Crain’s “20 in their 20s.” Fred likewise led FIT to being named Best IT Services Organization from NEOSA in 2009.
He serves on several technology advisory committees, including at GCP Tech and at Case Western Reserve University. Fred has a BS from the University of Akron and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at CWRU. He lives in Cleveland Heights with his wife Nissa and two sons, Freddy and Erik.

I was interested in technology at a fairly early age. When I saw what amazing things people could create with technology, it drew me into designing cool things as a hobby. By high school, I knew that technology was a career I could be passionate about every day.
