Micki Tubbs, CEO & CoFounder of FIT Technologies was named by Mayor Frank Jackson to the Cleveland - Cuyahoga Workforce Investment Board (WIB) for a three year term. The Area 3 WIB serves as the advisory body for the City of Cleveland the Cuyahoga County departments of Workforce Development. She brings 28 years of senior level leadership along with her healthcare, technology, and education sector experience to the board. As a business owner, Tubbs sees first hand the need for qualified and dedicated candidates to fill open positions across the region. Tubbs signs on to WIB at an opportune time in that the board is beginning a strategic planning process to chart the course of the organization for the next several years. She joins a savvy group of business, civic and governmental leaders also serving on the WIB board. The collaborative workforce system, OhioMeansJobs|Cleveland-Cuyahoga County (OMJ|CC), helps local employers meet their human capital needs and assists job seekers to find success. The programs and services include education, occupational training, job match and search assistance and employment-related programs funded through the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA). The specialized programs are targeted to employers, job seekers, veterans, and youth. OMJ|CC staffs four offices (downtown, Brookpark, Southgate and Westgate) and has community partners with 12 local chambers of commerce and community development corporations from across Northeast Ohio, including Brecksville to Lyndhurst to Fairview Park.
