2014 CIO of the Year Awards

Congratulations to the 2014 finalists and honorees of the CIO of the Year Awards. Presented by Crain’s Cleveland Business in partnership with COSE, this is Northeast Ohio’s Premier Honor For Leading IT Executives in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. FIT CIO Fred Franks served as a judge this year and was an award recipient in 2012.

Fred is the CIO and has been part of the FIT Team for 12 years. Fred brings both strategic and tactical experience to FIT where he leads the team in creating solutions for clients and researching new technologies. Fred was named CIO of the Year by NEOSA several years ago and upped his hipster status by being named to Inside Business’ “Most Powerful Techies” list and was honored as a Crain’s 20 in their 20s”back in the days when he was in his 20s.  Fred likewise led FIT to being named Best IT Services Organization from NEOSA. He serves on several technology advisory committees at  Case, Tri-C, CVCC and UA. Fred is a graduate of the University of Akron and Weatherhead’s MBA program. He lives in University Circle with his wife, Nissa, and their two sons. He enjoys cycling with his family and enjoying the amenities of his neighborhood.
