At FIT Technologies, we’re proud to support nonprofits making a difference every day. One of those organizations is FrontLine Service, a Cleveland-based nonprofit providing crisis intervention, trauma care, housing support, and mental health services to vulnerable populations in our community.

In this Client Spotlight video, FIT’s Vice President of Client Services Becky Cross sat down with FrontLine Service COO Angela Glassco to talk about the nonprofit’s mission, its growth, and how the right IT support helps them carry it out.

Managed IT Services for Nonprofits: Supporting a Complex Mission

Nonprofits like FrontLine Service often operate with lean budgets while still delivering mission-critical services around the clock. With over 300 employees and more than 25 different programs, FrontLine needed managed IT services that could handle complexity without slowing down their mission. FIT became that partner, helping with everything from day-to-day IT support to large-scale technology projects that changed how the organization operates.

Electronic Medical Record Implementation

One of the biggest shifts came during the rollout of an electronic medical record (EMR) system. FrontLine needed a way to track client services, billing, and case management more efficiently. FIT was “side by side” through every stage of the implementation, managing the project, supporting staff training, and customizing the system to accommodate FrontLine’s wide range of programs. This technology upgrade didn’t just modernize workflows; it freed up staff to focus on caring for people in crisis.

Cybersecurity for Nonprofits: Preparing for the Unexpected

While many assume nonprofits fly under the radar of cybercriminals, Angela shared a very different reality:
“You wouldn’t think that ransomware would be relevant in a nonprofit organization, but it is.”
FrontLine was hit with a ransomware attack that threatened to shut down services entirely. Thanks to FIT’s cybersecurity for nonprofits expertise, the response was immediate: within hours, systems were secured, and within 24–48 hours, staff were up and running on secure laptops. That quick response provided ransomware recovery and also prepared FrontLine for the sudden transition to remote work when the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020.

IT Support for Nonprofits: Ready for the Future

Today, FrontLine continues to rely on FIT for IT support for nonprofits, from cybersecurity protections to training resources that make technology easier to navigate for every team member. As Angela put it, the goal is to have IT broken down into “layman’s terms” so staff can use it confidently without losing focus on their mission.
