FIT Technologies CISO Jason Collins Receives Transformational Cyber Leader Award from Cynomi

CLEVELAND, Ohio – September 2026 – FIT Technologies is proud to announce that Jason Collins, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), has been named the recipient of the Transformational Cyber Leader Award as part of the 2026 Cyber Advisory Excellence Awards, an industry recognition program presented by Cynomi honoring cybersecurity leaders who are elevating cybersecurity into a strategic business advantage.

The Cyber Advisory Excellence Awards recognize leaders, teams, and emerging talent across the MSP, MSSP, and vCISO communities who are advancing cyber advisory practices and helping organizations build resilience, improve governance, and make more informed business decisions. According to Cynomi, the awards celebrate professionals who are redefining how cybersecurity supports business strategy, executive alignment, and organizational success.

Collins received the Transformational Cyber Leader Award, which recognizes senior cybersecurity leaders who have fundamentally elevated cybersecurity from an operational function to a strategic business capability while driving measurable impact, executive trust, and organizational resilience.

Building Security into a Business Enabler

As CISO of FIT Technologies, Collins oversees the company's cybersecurity strategy while also serving as a trusted virtual CISO advisor to organizations throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond. Over the past several years, he has helped guide clients through security assessments, governance initiatives, compliance requirements, risk management planning, and executive-level cybersecurity strategy.

In its award announcement, Cynomi highlighted Collins' role in building cybersecurity into a core capability both inside FIT Technologies and across the organizations he advises. The award citation specifically recognized his success in helping grow FIT's security practice from no dedicated cybersecurity revenue in 2023 into a comprehensive suite of cybersecurity services with rapid client adoption.

Cynomi also noted Collins' ability to combine deep technical expertise with a practical, business-focused approach that helps executives and boards better understand cybersecurity risk and make informed decisions.

"Cyber advisory is a broad category. It spans proactive guidance, virtual CISO services, security posture management, GRC, and risk management, but what matters most is meeting clients where they are and giving them the guidance and proactive, strategic support they need to reduce risk and protect business continuity. Our award winners are demonstrating that kind of excellence and helping build more resilient organizations in the process."

That philosophy closely aligns with Collins' leadership approach. Throughout his career, he has focused on translating technical cybersecurity challenges into business terms, enabling leadership teams to make informed decisions that reduce risk while supporting organizational growth.

A Well-Deserved Honor

Reflecting on the recognition, Collins expressed gratitude for the award and the team that made it possible.

"I am incredibly honored to receive the Transformational Cyber Leader Award from Cynomi. This recognition reflects not only my efforts, but the dedication of the entire FIT Technologies team and the trust our clients place in us every day. Cybersecurity is ultimately about helping organizations achieve their goals securely and confidently, and I am proud to work alongside clients and colleagues who share that mission."
